Description
At AIAS, this course is focused on facial massage, body massage, hair removal, spa treatments, lash and brow treatments, nail technology services, make-up, aromatherapy, providing advice on beauty treatments and services, selling retail skin care and cosmetic products and coordinating teams.
The advanced level of the course is reflected in its focus on the self-directed application of knowledge and skills. You will learn how to plan and select appropriate equipment, services and techniques, and work autonomously in performing complex technical operations.
To give the course further real world relevanct, the work reflected in this qualification includes participating in teams, and group or team coordination.

Stream A
Students are required to select two (2) subjects from General Elective Group 1 and a further two (2) electives from General Elective Group 2. If however, a student selects Aromatherapy 2 from Group 1 Electives they must Aromatherapy 1 from Group 2 Electives plus one other elective/competency.

Employment
Graduates from this course will be competent in a broad range of beauty therapy treatments. Careers open up for graduates from a Beauty Therapy Course, and jobs can be undertaken as skilled Beauty Therapists in salons, spas, home based business and the wider beauty industry. Alternatively Salon Management is also an opportunity after successful completion of this course. As a diploma-qualified Beauty Therapist, you will be one step ahead of most of your competition and the choice of jobs available to you will be plentiful including specialising in specific areas of beauty therapy based on your electives chosen.
Further Study
While this qualification has an employment outcome in its own right, it is expected also to be used as a pathway for learners wishing to continue their studies at undergraduate level at university.
