The Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Remedial Massage (An Mo Tui Na) is designed to give you the education and training you need to launch your career as a TCM massage practitioner.
This course is ideally suited for those who want to work in or who are currently working in the area of TCM Remedial Massage and want to increase their skills and knowledge.
This course is aimed at recent school leavers, those looking for a career change, those re-entering the workforce, or those wishing to add TCM Remedial Massage training to their existing professional skill set. It is also a perfect course for overseas professionals wishing to ensure their training is comparable to Australian requirements.
Description
Traditional Chinese therapeutic massage is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a technique that stimulates acupressure points and meridians to treat musculoskeletal conditions, relieve spasm and pain, improve the function of tendons, bones and joints, and promote overall health and wellbeing.
The Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine Remedial Massage (An Mo Tui Na) offers training in all aspects of TCM massage. Students will learn about massage therapy, lymphatic drainage, shiatsu, cross fibre mobilisation, advanced deep tissue massage, aromatherapy, Chinese acupressure and structural aligning. There is also a strong emphasis on communication, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine and clinical management.
As part of your qualification you will spend time within the AIAS Massage Clinic which operates to the public, giving you experience with real clients in a real work environment.

Career Pathways
Employment
This qualification provides skills in Traditional Chinese Medicine Remedial Massage as well as specialist skills in treatment for women and children and in traumatology treatment. Graduates may also work in conjunction with practitioners qualified in other TCM areas of practice.
Graduates from this course will generally be successful as TCM Remedial Massage Practitioners, TCM Remedial Massage Therapists, Chinese Remedial Massage Practitioners, and Tui Na Practitioners.
Further Study
Some units of study from the Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine Remedial Massage can be credited towards another course at AIAS. Some graduates of this course go on to study health science, medicine, physiotherapy and other related courses at university.
