This introductory qualification will provide students with the fundamental aromatherapy and massage skills they need to work in the aromatherapy industry.

Anatomy and physiology, aromatherapy massage & clinic management skills will create the basis of your studies, with work experience at either our Student Clinics or at a Vocational Placement facility near you helping to further prepare you for work after graduation.

Available online and to domestic students only, individuals who study the Certificate IV in Aromatherapy at AIAS will gain the theoretical and practical experience they need to begin their dream career. Employment

aromatherapy careersThis qualification covers the skills needed to be a basic level Aromatherapist. At the completion of this certificate you will have the basic skills in aromatherapy health assessment and treatment.

You may find work in an aged care facility, a health service or a spa facility giving basic aromatherapy treatments. Alternatively, graduates find work in manufacturing aromatherapy products or in the retail area of the industry.

At this level the graduate aromatherapist can formulate applications within a relaxation framework, and would be expected to have a basic knowledge of a limited range (minimum of 29) of oils. A person with a Certificate IV in Aromatherapy will predominately use massage as a method of application.

Further study

While the Certificate IV in Aromatherapy can be used as a direct pathway to your career, it is also a stepping stone to the Diploma of Aromatherapy, which offers further specialisation.
