Kat is the course coordinator and lecturer for the Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management. They bring over 20 years' experience working in commercial kitchens across the world to this role. Kat began their apprenticeship in Brisbane in 1999, and has travelled and worked extensively from boutique hotels in the foothills of the Scottish Highlands to the Michelin star restaurants of Berlin. They have run their own catering business and continue to collaborate and develop new products within the industry.
Kat is a qualified trainer and assessor, developing AIAS’ framework for delivery and assessment. In addition to a trade qualification, Kat also holds a Diploma of Hospitality Management.
Kat is passionate about food and about the hospitality industry. They are committed to passing on knowledge, skills and training the next generation of chefs and hospitality professionals. They firmly believe cooking is a rewarding and exciting career and Kat's enthusiasm for the industry energises students on their educational journey.
