Our Diploma course seamlessly integrates with the Cert III qualification allowing students to expand on what they have previously learned with submersion into specialty subjects to really encompass the leadership aspects of childcare.
The course aims to broaden each student’s previously gained knowledge and widen the depth of understanding of design and implementation of curriculum, working within approved learning frameworks and adhering to national regulations whilst doing so.
Students continue applying their practical experience via work placement and are able to advance their understanding thoroughly making them either valuable aspirants or considerably better equiped reentrants into the ubiquitous world of child care and education.
Under the Education and Care Services National Law (2011) the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) publishes lists of approved early childhood education and care qualifications and information regarding regulatory requirements here: www.acecqa.gov.au.
After completing the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, students may gain employment as a Group Leader, Team Leader, Qualified Child Care Worker, Program Leader, Kindergarten or Preschool Assistant, Primary School Teacher Aide, Service Manager or Centre Director in a child care facility, or may choose to go onto further study such as the Advanced diploma of Children’s Services or gain credit towards a university degree such as Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).
